Akshat mama's wedding

17th

i went home (lucknow) for 4/5 days bunking my classes here in nepal.
y did i do that ?

coz t'was a long time since i had seen a wedding
long since i had rumali roti
and mainly, the whole bloody family was coming, frm across the globe, somemore!

well, there was usha nani and babbu nana frm CANADA, with mukul mama, kanchan mausi too.

moni mama, priya and mami frm nairobi, KENYA

papa, ma, nandini frm SINGAPORE

and me > NEPAL! lol.

so, met them all when i arrived on 17th morning by train frm delhi.

ma and mausi were like best mates meeting after ages, u know, they cracked up laughing at anything not nearly funny!

mukul mama had nothing better to do the whole day, so he just entertained himself with task of getting the pigs and the number-plate in the same pic! successful!

papa arrived on 17th as well, but too late due to flight delays in delhi.

munna nani is sitting in her usual place in the afternoons.

pappu mama, is envious, he wants to play with the baby but ma has him.

on 17th night, there was a particular 'ladies sangeet' event to be held at the bride's place,

so we all got ready...

mami gave nan a neck-kada to wear!

lol, priya went in nightsuit! hahahah. but she had fun.

papa, obviously commenting on the getup nan had! while pappu mama looks on.

we reached mahanagar first, all dressed and ready to leave to the bride's place.

but b4 that moni mama enjoyed his expresso.

when we reached the place, we took the front row!

obviously, all the ladies were there coz it was 'ladies' sangeet.

usha nani was busy with the bride's family,
eventually she found time to put on the mehendi (henna) .
i have no idea what she was doing in this pic, my closest guess:
nan tried to ruin her mehendi, so she's doing self defense, boxing!
lol.

even kanchan mausi tried the mehendi.

hahah, cute pic, one hand in the air, for drying, while she sips milkshake merrily frm the other hand, oblivious to the fact that i was capturing the moment!

i asked mausi how to get a pic of the bride up close, for akshat mama?
she stood nxt to her, so here it is... thats the bride, w/o makeup that is!
she even performed a dance on the stage in this dress.

18th

munna nani took us to 'prashad-paaying-session' at gaudiya math.

love the food they serve, especially coz its on 'pattal's and the tomato chutney and kheer are to die for!

kanchan mausi passes a comment looking at me taking a pic, while ma smiles! awaiting the tasty treat.

munna nani's got arthritis, so she cant sit cross legged anymore.

later that day,

some 'tilak' event or something, i wasnt there, mukul mama took over as the photographer!

rochna mami (groom's mum) and lal mama (dad) in the centre.

then the lunch, out in the garden; babbu nana doesnt seem interested in the food! i wonder why!?

at night, no one was doing anything, so we took things in our hands,

decided to re-enact the skit moni mama had done back in kenya!

moni mama as an old man in a park, came to exercise. all the seated guests enjoying the play already!
nandini as a newspaper seller, mami as the attractive lady, waiting in the park for her lover to arrive.
no sign of lover, so moni mama takes the opportunity to get close! lol !!!
i was the thug, in the park.
got into the act myself, both trying to get a piece of the lady.
eventually, the lady escaped, the 2 idiots didnt realize! were shocked later to discover the opposite.

the best part was that the skit was mime-acting!

moni mama, entertaining the guests and family with his vocal talents

he sang some ghazals, entertained the adults, but we kids got bored.

though he did sing amazingly. made us all proud.

19th

the wedding day arrived, and akshat mama's freedom's last moments were leaving.

later , lunch again. same place. same ppl. same food ?! haha.

i got ready , wore my black blazer and black pant ,

ma, was roaming here and there, helping other ladies get dressed , and look their best!

koki bhaiya, now in delhi . (my cousin) also came on the day of wedding. looking smart here, me too!
all suited men, waiting gently for the ladies to arrive.

a mitsubishi pajero landed itself in the porch. and i fell in love.

guess wat u get if u get married to a rich politician's daughter!

rajni nani came all the way frm allahabad, papa looking like a personality.
all gathering slowly, in the hall at mahanagar.

hahah, raina had an incident and had this face for a long time, gd thing nan helped her out.

at the shaadi, the food was gd. met with few ppl. had fun hanging out with raina and nan initally,

sometimes with pappu mama and mukul mama. sometimes with papa and ma, monimama and mami.

later i met 2 girls, anubhuti and astha. sweet, beautiful girls frm lucknow itself, both doing psychology in LU. enjoyed hanging out with them.

later all the VIPs including our family, had dinner on separate tables!

moni mama, standing next to the stall for a thandai. amazing drink we have occasionally. the guys that make thandai, and also bhaang!

although i so wanted to have it for once, no one let me have it!!

21st
